The definition of self-care: how is changes every moment

This week, there has been a been a pattern of discussing identity and self-care all around me. I talk about self-care, as well as a lot of other people all around us, but what really is it? How does it apply to us?

Well, I think it's really about where we are in life. We are always evolving, adapting, experiencing things that change our energy, which means what we need is also changing, and is fluid.

Coping mechanisms and strategies that worked for you 10 years ago, very well may not work for you now. What worked for you before an injury, may no longer be applicable. Our self-care may look like picking ourselves up out of bed and be productive, but it can also look like resting in bed for an entire day doing absolutely nothing. It all depends on where we're at, and the only wrong thing to do, is to not think about what you need at all.

Through my life I have needed all sorts of types of self-care, all depending on the very moment I'm living in. I've needed to take breaks. I've needed to push myself and get sh*t going. I've needed to ask for help. I've needed to have my alone time and reflect. Sometimes I've needed to feel more control over my life, sometimes I've needed to go with the flow and see where the universe is guiding me.

ALL OF THIS IS OK!

There is no need for us to add pressure on ourselves with things we think we "should" be doing, and when it is going against the grain of what we really need... there will automatically be energetic resistance to achieving what you're trying to.

Listen to your body, listen to your intuition, and feel things from the heart. Forgive yourself for your past and love yourself in the present. You are exactly where you are supposed to be, we just all need to see the purpose of where we are... when we're there.
